She works with nonprofits on major giving, strategic development planning, board engagement, capital campaigns and the creation of mission, vision, values and case statements. Her understanding of philanthropy and its potential to change the world is widely respected, and her enduring goal is to increase the capacity of client organizations to fulfill their mission.
Kay works directly with organizations on their issues and challenges, mentors colleagues and younger professionals, presents to gatherings of all sizes and coaches individuals and small groups of decision-makers as they address their most pressing issues. Her design approach plants seeds, unravels tangled situations and sparks agreement. Kay approaches each situation with unique strategies based on the needs of the organization and on her vast experience, and she is guided in all her work by gratitude and joy for being part of the world’s most dynamic sector.
Kay founded her own consulting business in 1990 after ten years as a development director for three nonprofit organizations. Her professional services in the US and around the world are booked through Transforming Philanthropy, LLC.
