Harvey McKinnon is working to expand our thinking about giving.
His new book, “The Power of Giving: How Giving Back Enriches Us All,” provides readers with ideas, exercises and stories that help reveal the unique gifts each person has to give. It emphasizes that the more you give, the more you have, and that we benefit from giving in ways that we don’t typically think about.
In this episode of The Beacon, Lighthouse Counsel host Tom Landrum and McKinnon discuss how donors can benefit from their own acts of philanthropy. McKinnon also shares insight on:
– Creating a culture of philanthropy in nonprofits
– Important practices fundraising professionals need to embrace
– Healthy ways to think about aspects of philanthropy that don’t involve money
