September 18, 2024

In this episode of The Beacon Podcast, Lighthouse Counsel Content Coordinator Margaret Gardner speaks with Nicole Rivera, vice president of programs for Musicians On Call, about recruiting and empowering volunteers.

In their discussion, Nicole talks about:

  • The different roles volunteers play at Musicians On Call and how the organization goes about recruiting volunteers and communicating the benefits of volunteering
  • How Musicians On Call keeps volunteers feeling engaged, energized, valued and appreciated
  • How Musicians On Call supports volunteers who want to donate money or otherwise help with fundraising.

About our guest

Nicole has been with Musicians On Call since 2014, when she started as assistant to the president. Since then, she’s held the positions of manager of southeast music programs, senior manager of music programs, director of programs, senior director of programs and now vice president of programs.

She recently was recognized in Music Row’s “Next Big Thing” Industry Directory for her efforts and leadership in delivering the healing power of music, and – fun fact – she recently performed at the world-famous Carnegie Hall with the Nashville Symphony Chorus.
